6 Verification Documents for Intern Teachers
(1) A copy of the Teacher Registration Certificate/TSC web portal printout as proof of teacher registration;
(2) NCPWD card (if applicable);
(3) A copy of the National ID or passport;
(4) Color passport photos;
(5) NHIF card copy;
(6) KRA PIN copy
NOTE
i) Candidates must submit authentic academic and professional certifications.
ii) Interns must have personal accident insurance.
iii) Candidates will be chosen based on merit and county vacancies.
iv) Internship applicants may only accept one.
v) Successful candidates will be assigned to any primary or junior secondary school in the county where they were interviewed or anywhere in the country where vacancies exist.
vi) Junior Secondary School applicants must teach diverse curriculum areas.
NOTE:
The Teacher Internship Program trains new teachers for one year. Unemployed registered instructors are sent to learning institutions for mentorship, coaching, and hands-on teaching experience.
Internship length
Twelve-month internship.
MONTHLY TEACHER INTERNS
Not paid. However, teacher interns at primary schools will receive Kshs. 15,000/=, while those in junior secondary schools would receive Kshs. 20,000/=. Statutory deductions apply to the stipend.
Internship Certificate
Teacher interns receive certificates after completing the Internship Programme.
According to the constitution and law, PWDs are encouraged to apply to the Teachers Service Commission.
Junior secondary teacher interns
Minimum requirements for recruitment:
i) Be Kenyan;
ii) Must have a diploma in education and KCSE C+ (plus) grades in two teaching subjects.
iii) TSC-registered instructor.

TVET teachers should apply.
Primary teacher interns
Minimum requirements for recruitment:
i) Be Kenyan;
ii) PI Certificate bearer;
iii) TSC-registered instructor.
NB:
Upgrade Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (CBC) teachers will benefit.
