Citizen TV journalist Stephen Letoo’s car vandalised, valuables stolen in Lavington

Citizen TV senior political affairs journalist Stephen Letoo has reported that his car was vandalised and robbed by unknown people on Friday night in Lavington, Nairobi. The incident happened as he was attending a friend’s birthday party at a nearby restaurant.

Letoo said that the robbers smashed his passenger window and made away with his MacBook laptop, drives, other personal items, and VIP invitation cards for his upcoming thanksgiving ceremony. He said that he had left his car at a parking lot near the restaurant and only realised what had happened when he returned to his vehicle.

“I was shocked to find my car window broken and my valuables gone. I don’t know who did this or why they targeted me. It is very unfortunate and sad,” Letoo said.

He said that he had reported the incident to the Muthangari Police Station and hoped that the police would investigate the matter and recover his stolen items. He also appealed to anyone who might have information about the incident to come forward and assist the police.

Letoo is one of the most prominent journalists in Kenya, covering political affairs and breaking news for Citizen TV. He is also a vocal advocate for human rights and social justice.

He recently announced that he would be holding a thanksgiving ceremony on September 10 to celebrate his recovery from COVID-19, which he contracted in July last year.

He said that he had invited several dignitaries, including President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Deputy President William Ruto, to attend the ceremony.

Letoo’s colleagues at Citizen TV and other media houses have expressed their sympathy and solidarity with him following the incident. They have also condemned the attack and called for more security for journalists in the country.
