The Commission dates back to 1954 when Civil Service Commission was established by British Colonial Government following Holmes Commission Report, 1948; Civil Service Commission was advisory to the Governor in matters of appointments; At independence in 1963 it was enshrined in the constitution and renamed Public Service Commission

Geologist – 36 Posts

For appointment to this grade,

  • A candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Geology, Engineering Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Environmental Geology or its equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities
This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

  • Being involved in Geological mapping, geophysical and geophysical and geochemical minerals exploration; and Geotechnical and environmental investigation programmes.
