Business Development Manager Specialty Rental East Africa

Key Responsibilities

  • Localization and communication of the regional vision.
  • Grow the African market through Atlas Copco’s Speciality rental offering
  • Action priority setting and execution, in line with the vision.
  • Management of growth (organic and inorganic), operations and finance in line with the agreed regional targets
  • Leadership, coaching and team building
  • Continuous cultural development
  • Future development of a top talent pipeline to ensure sustainability of the region’s performance
  • Product Sales (40%) – Prospect, qualify and in develop Rental related Opportunities in the Petrochemical, Industrial manufacturing and Mining segments in Africa
  • Training (10%) -Personal Upskill and development to identify Opportunities and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Project Management (20%) – Assessing customer requirements related to all rental products commissioning and labour required for projects.
  • Innovate and find solutions for relevant products in order to find solutions for related opportunities.
  • Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all relevant internal and external people/employees relevant to this mission.
  • Market Analysis (20%) – Continuously pursue knowledge and understanding of economic trends and news that may affect the temperature control (steamboiler and chiller) industries.
  • Reporting (10%) – Prepare monthly and regular feedback on business activity, won & lost opportunities, pipeline of orders and performance against budget. Update information in Salesforce.

Experience Requirements
General (Marketing & Sales)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with management of a sales team.
  • Minimum of 8 years of total sales and marketing experience.

Specific (specialty rental business & general and Oil-Free diesel driven portable air compressors)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the specialty rental business / industry.

Ancillary but Specific (Business Development & CRM software)

  • Some previous international business development experience is a plus
  • Experience using CRM software.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor or diploma in marketing or similar by experience

Human Resource Manager

Your role:

  • Providing strategic direction and assistance to managers in the areas of recruitment and retention, staff and organizational development, performance management, etc.
  • Supporting the managers in hiring the right people and providing the new employees an effective induction program and ensuring the retention of top talent / potential.
  • Working continuously to enhance and improve HR systems, processes, and reporting for key stakeholders.
  • Developing, maintaining and updating competence development programs based on Professional and Development Review process and also the Talent Review process.
  • Identifying, and implementing suitable training activities, in conjunction with other managers, to support the business goals.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly HR reports, Headcount Evaluation, Key Performance Indicators, People Management, Manpower Efficiency and others as assigned or as relevant to the organization.
  • Being responsible for the company’s payroll.
  • Implementing and maintaining the AC Staff database for administration of People Management processes.
  • Participating in management, company and HR meetings relevant to People Management issues.
  • Liaising with finance on HR related matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment regulations in the region and also in keeping with Atlas Copco requirements.
  • Serving as advisor for all human resource matters of a legal nature.
  • Implementing HR Policies and people management processes according to The Way We Do Things.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in psychology, law, or HR or equal through experience
  • Experience in recruitment is a plus
  • Knowledge of Labor law
  • Good command of English
  • Experience with SAP Successfactors (HR Link) would be an advantage
  • Good Knowledge of MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
