Key services experiencing technical issues

Kenya Railways is the latest government agency to report a ticket-buying glitch.

Kenya Railways tweeted;

“A system glitch is affecting customer ticket purchases. Due to a service provider network failure.

“We are working with the service provider to restore normalcy as soon as possible. We apologize.

The company said it was restoring normalcy.

It also apologized to clients for the incident.

KPLC also reported a network failure.

Our service provider’s network failure is causing a system glitch. “M-Pesa and USSD Code *977# prepaid token purchases are unavailable,” it claimed.

The temporary technical issue affects 8 critical services.

The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has announced that Kenya-bound travellers will receive VISAs upon arrival due to e-Citizen platform issues with passport endorsements.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo confirmed a cyberattack on the e-Citizen platform.

“A challenge in the Government e-Citizen platform is impacting e-visa processing,” the ministry said.
