The Commission dates back to 1954 when Civil Service Commission was established by British Colonial Government following Holmes Commission Report, 1948; Civil Service Commission was advisory to the Governor in matters of appointments; At independence in 1963 it was enshrined in the constitution and renamed Public Service Commission

Laboratory Technician – 4 Posts

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –

  • Certificate in any of the following fields; Laboratory Technologist or Medical Laboratory from a recognized institution;
  • Occupational/Proficiency Test Certificate Grade III/II/I in Civil Engineering for Geological Laboratories from a recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include:-

  • Processing and preserving test samples;
  • Packaging, transporting and submitting tested samples;
  • Receiving and recording Submitted samples;
  • Preparing Laboratory Reagents;
  • Documenting and receiving samples for analysis;
  • Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surface and equipment;
  • Disposing laboratory waste
