The International Labour Organization (ILO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of National Project Coordinator in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

The mission of the ILO is to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.

Key Job Responsibilities

The National Project Coordinator will perform the following functions:

  • Collect and draft summaries and analysis of relevant policy and programmes in Mongolia.
  • Assist in programming and control of resources of the project, prepare budget estimates and expenditure forecasts by analysing and monitoring situation of resources as compared to planned activities and making recommendations for remedial action. Identify problems, propose solutions and actions.
  • Contribute to research design, development of research tools, monitoring and reporting.
  • Lead in preparing required technical progress reports and ad hoc reports on the status of project planning and implementation for submission to the ILO and the donor.
  • Organize meetings, workshops by collecting information in support of preparing background materials and developing technical briefs, to share good practices fostering academic research and stakeholder alignment.
  • Translate into local language(s) and / or edit translation of technical material, news releases, official correspondence, statements, speeches and other documents.
  • Prepare briefs, periodical reports and statistical data on core labour standards, including non-discrimination and harassment and violence at workplace, and contribute to the production of training and advocacy material both in English and in Mongolian.
  • Ensure effective contract arrangements and timely completion of the work by national partners.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • University Degree in a relevant field, preferably Master Degree in law, development studies, labour economics and social sciences.
  • At least one to two years of relevant professional experience at the national level preferably in the area of legal reform, labour standards and work experience with the Government of Mongolia, social partners, civil society, UN Agencies and other stakeholders will be advantage.
  • Excellent command of English and excellent knowledge of Mongolian language.
