Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management CS Moses Kuria has assured the public that the forthcoming National Youth Service recruitment will be fair to all.

In a statement on Tuesday, Kuria insisted that there will be no special list for the recruitment and that everyone must go through the entire recruitment process.

He said that it was time for him to stand up and protect the rights of the children of the poor in the country.

Kuria reiterated that no amount of intimidation will make him change his mind on ensuring fairness in the recruitment process.

“NYS Recruitment will take place from Monday to Friday, February 5-9 2024. As promised by President William Ruto and myself, there is no side list. Kila mtu aingie uwanja.

“It is time to stand for the children of the poor. No amount of pressure and intimidation will make me backtrack on this. Hata nyinyi mnanijua,” the CS said on X.

This comes a few days after Kuria announced that NYS will be recruiting 15,000 servicemen and women at subcounty recruitment centres, from February 5 to February 9, 2024.

Speaking last week, the CS added that the list of successful candidates will be posted in a public portal one hour after the closure of the exercise.

“No one will have a special list. Not the Director General, not myself as the Cabinet Secretary, not the President of the Republic of Kenya,” he said.

“Kila mtu ang’ang’ane kwa uwanja. The only connection you need is an internet connection to read this message. All the youth in this country deserve an opportunity. President William Ruto and I will give this fair opportunity to all young people without fear or favour.”

Among the requirements is that one must be a Kenyan citizen and a resident of the respective subcounty of recruitment and must be aged 18 to 24 years.

They should also have a mean Grade of D plain and above in KCSE and they should produce original National Identity Card and academic certificates, copies of which should be availed at the recruitment centre.

Eligible candidates must also have a certificate of Good Conduct, must be ready to undergo medical check-up during and after the recruitment, should be prepared to undergo rigorous physical training and should be prepared to give voluntary service to the country in any part of Kenya.
